I would like to make one of these:
The reason I started this bloggy blog was to say that I would really like to write a short story and draw the scenes for it then find a way to publish it. That's right! I was going to google: How to get published.
I could tell you about a book I started a long time ago. It's very gripping. It starts like this:
"LARRRRRRRRZ!" I yelled as I discovered the piece of ice melting on my forehead. "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" I demanded to know while jumping out of bed swiping the half melted cube onto the floor and kicking it out my bedroom door. I don't know what it is about step fathers but they know just how to do all the wrong things. Like the other day my best friend Miss calls from her house yelling at me about how her step father told her "No, you can't go to the beach when it's shark week on the TV." It made quite a lot of sense to me though, but I wasn't about to argue.
The first line is probably the only original part from the very first time I started writing the book. That's what I could work on this summer. It's more of a teens "novel" than a children's book. It wouldn't have pictures of course. For my computer design class I almost made my DVD cover based off of this but I just ended doing it off of a book that doesn't have a movie to it. Hinds' Feet On High Places...that's the title, thought I haven't finished it and I started reading it a few years ago. I pick it up every now and then.
NEXT...moving on from the book stuff...I would like to become the next NEW AND IMPROVED Martha Stewart. The tabs on her website are Food, Entertaining, Holidays, Weddings, Crafts, Home&Garden, Pets, Whole Living, Television, and Shop.
Let's see...if I had that on my website...what would follow underneath it? I think I would make my website something you have to subscribe to because I could update it each month with a blurb about each thing. Like a blog magazine.
With this blog magazine I would strive to not overload the subscribers with tip after tip or recipe after recipe because when I look through a magazine I dog ear almost every page but then don't have to time to get through hardly any of it.
Food- The months Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Drink, and Dessert!
Entertaining- Describe the months holiday and how to dress up the room for an awesome party or dinner. How about THEMED PARTIES!!! ...my favorite...just sayin.
Weddings- Each month I would come up with a new wedding theme filled with cards, colors, and decor ideas.
Crafts- Each month gets a few craft ideas. There can be ones for kids, and teens and adults ranging from easy to more labor intensive.
Home&Garden- I love the idea of painting our front door...I think this should have a different front door color and how to dress up the outside of your house to match it. I will also include a fun gardening diorama or tip or ideas. Also...who doesn't like a "MAKE YOUR ROOM YOUR ROOM" idea? I found one this morning at 1AM and plan to give it to a friend as a gift!
Pets- Homemade doggy treats!!! Homemade animal toys!!! Homemade animal dishes!!! Animal of the month! Adopt an animal from your local humane society!!! I could have articles about a specific animal shelter or just links to their websites and include what those places need in donations!
Whole Living- This is like Health and Beauty. I will probably include little stories about someone I know and how they get healthy or feel healthy or their health struggle. Then I'll throw it some cute clothing options!
Television- I wont have a tv show of course but I could totally take videos of myself making the craft or going on a shopping frenzy for the outfit I suggested at a low cost...I could also show myself getting dirty in the garden! It will really just be a place I can show people that I can walk and talk at the same time!
Shop- Here I can provide links to finding the things to buy for the suggested ideas and I can sell some of the crafts I make, toys, wedding/party stuff for the subscribers who are lazy :)
SOUNDS GOOD TO ME!
Now...I need to see that commercial they show on television about making your own website for your business.
Oh, and yes...it will be called EMILAMMY JAMMY!
Just like the purpose of life, I will be figuring mine out for as long as it takes! (I read somewhere that the purpose of life is figuring out what your purpose in life is...sure! I'm in!) I'm a brainstorming fool!
