Mid-Summer Staff Training (Haha)

Camp is going so well! Sure I've been dead tired for the past 4 weeks but you know what...that's what this week off is for. Relaxation and hanging out with my family!
Matt's going to be home tomorrow and I can't wait. I can because I'm chillin' with Marta and Ally for the 4th of July and we're about to have loads of fun, but if I wasn't here then I would be waiting till sunday morning to come back.
Anyways...I'm going to tell you about Staff Training, Camp Chrysalis, and it's campers and staff!
Well children, today we're learning about...hahaha. So, I went in to Staff Training with an open mind, spirit, and personality. Guess what...that all helped me to make tons of new friends. Priscilla is the lady leader of iTangent. Our small group went on a lot of those during our Godly discussions, so we thought we'd give ourselves a better name than Group 1. I should make a shirt of it. I could put it on my tie-dye one. iTangent.....UNITE! We started off as a pretty quiet group, but we got to a point where we were just pumpin out the energy.
We hung out at Ebert the first week and then at Chrysalis the second, then went our separate ways in site specific training. It was sad to have our group split up but we were able to group up again and make closer relationships with other people that we'd be seeing a lot of at Chrysalis.
It's just so amazing! The sound of kids singing from afar is so refreshing, and going hoarse every other week is nothing to complain about anymore.
Sure some of the staff members have their differences and I'm out totally out of it by friday when we're cleaning after 200 kids were just camping there the past week, but the weekends are always fun and we somehow find ways to make things ready for the next week of campers.
I heard this is one of the best staffs they've had. I can tell, and I'm pretty darn happy that I'm a part of it. I have authority in some places and I use it, while in other places I'm asked to do something helpful and I'm all for it. "No, it's fine," is my response of the summer. I'll miss my camp buddies. And now I know why people go back to work at that place even after all of the stress it thrown around, it's all about the ministry and the people who work for it and in it. Those campers are working in it...they're learning and growing in God's love and it's amazing what they get to witness as I did the same as a camper at Camp Chrysalis.
